This is Gram, and I am going to be a guest blogger at Pete's Spot for a while.
Our kitty, Pete, is very sick. Since we didn't know how old he was when we rescued him, this could be an age related thing. Pete is estimated to be between fifteen and seventeen years old. He has not been eating solid food, but he is still enjoying water and milk (it's milk for cats). He is also sneezing and very clogged up.
Our friends at the Vet have been very attentive to him. They hydrated him, and gave him some antibiotics. We were told that as long as he is still moving around, he has some fight in him. And boy, is he moving around.
He still moves from room to room, will still go out to the kitchen to get his water and milk (even though we have brought it into him), and still uses his litter box. He prefers his water and milk very warm. We've been calling it Tea and Tea with Cream. He almost acts like he has a very bad cold or the kitty flu. We continue to moniter him every day and attend to his needs. We've found that putting a warm washcloth over his face helps him, and we bought a Snotter that wew use to help clear the mucus out of his nose.
Pete is really inspirinig, even when he is sick. He is fighting to get well again, and we are doing everything in our power to help him in any way we can. Every day we see an improvement over yesterday, so we count every day we have with him as a blessing. He is really an amazing cat.
Please send your get well wishes to him in the comments below, and we will keep you updated on his progress.
